Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers!)
Who is the senior pastor? We are taking a different approach to leadership at River of Leland. Ours is a shared leadership model with a team of pastors.
Don't you need a building to be a church? Hey, why a bowling alley?
Well, we kind of like being portable. Right now God has blessed us with access to Thunder Alley - an amazing 20,000 square foot facility which is Christian owned and operated. Aren't the people the church?
Are you non-denominational?
We have chosen to affiliate with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and both the Wilmington and Brunswick County Baptist Associations. While we are totally autonomous, we love the way Baptists do missions.
Are you traditional or contemporary?
Well, we'd say we're relevant. Many people who've been immersed in church for years prefer to worship corporately with Hymns. Most who have not been in church prefer a style of music closer to what is found on their radio presets. Our main goal is to connect with people who've never met this amazing God whom we love. So, we'll be relevant to these folks. There are some amazing churches in the Leland area who faithfully serve in a traditional setting. We'll be happy to help you find a church family that best fits you - just ask! We simply want to see people worship the One, True and Living God! We'll do that at River of Leland by utilizing fresh, contemporary and relevant music, drama, and film in our Corporate Worship.
